#crochetmoodblanket2014 | Joining Squares As We Go

I know that the majority of the participants of  the #crochetmoodblanket2014 prefered smaller squares so their blankets wont be that big, I on the other hand went for BIG

But I love it and hey, it's just me and my mood. Pretty excited about snuggling up to this huge blanket at the end of this year.

So since it's gonna be pretty awesomely big, I am however not to keen on the idea that I will be joining every single 365 at the end of the year. So we shall be joining squares as we go to ease on that part.

Woke up to the passing of my uncle. Beloved eldest brother of my mom passed away peacefully late after midnight. He was my mom's star - the block is a different pattern becoz i wanted holes that could represent a big void my mom has in her heart now. Day 9

My very best friend confessed to being pregnant AGAIN- with twins - when she already has a set of 4 year old twin boys!!! 

I told her I once dreamt of ordering a truck load of pink cotton yarn and my eldest DD said "what on earth mom!" in which I replied "for aunty D" - wooooh will she have twin gurls next????

My prayers to her

Day 8
As we picked up my daughter today my hubby shouted "look!" and the next thing I knew, we were on hot pursuit of the #googlestreetviewcar hahahah The colors on the car inspired my mood today. 

Amazing how this #colorpalatte turn out into eh?

Day 7

The day my daughter's Mimi received her belated birthday present. She's big on Hello Kitty and Megablocks. I truly think it is very thoughtful to the details. My Sister In Law is a special person. She is kind and thoughtful.

Growing up I was never that close to my brother. But after he married her and saw how her own brother love her to bits, he made an effort to renew that relationship.

Aish. I love you very much. I would give you the world if I can and nothing can replace you

The pattern is from the same Large Square in Paris and I used the color palatte from a book about hello kitty I bought a few weeks back.

The day I found out my Aunt Saripah has stage 3 ovarian cancer and my Uncle Yan is in a coma after a fall from a motorcycle.

I watched a season finale of a US Top Comedy Drama. It was an autumn setting and I just love this color palatte.

A fun day spent at the beach. Last minute decisions to attend a gathering at Batu 9, Port Dickson with my husband's officemate.

Day 3.

The day my mother came for a visit bringing me lots of fresh fruits and veges from my village and lots of love. My mother was a teacher and she looooooooooooved to play with colors. But I do remember these color palattes that she had most.

School offically starts today. It is Syasya's last year in preschool. She goes to a private one and will start public elementary school next year. I decided this block to her school colors because I have becomed so fond of it. It's medium of instructions is fully in English eventhough it is our second language here in Malaysia.

Here is her new school uniform that we picked up last year. It's still good to go to be worn this year.

Everyone goes back to school tomorrow as school reopens in Malaysia after nearly 2 months of end of year holiday. My daughter is amazed that she is a senior. It will be her second year in Secondary School (the equivalent of highschool). She asked for my cross stitch hoopla since she saw how I sew in her school badge last year using it. I'm passing down this tip to all my mommy friends struggling to saw their kid's school patch on

Aliya my daughter is sewing her own patch. She's also in the School Scouts Brigade so she's used to sewing many patches now.

So we've only got "BACK TO SCHOOL" on my mind now.

The first square of the year represents my mood. Teal and White is the official school uniform color for Secondary Schools in Malaysia.

The color TEAL has somewhat grown on me this year. I found the yarn with the color somewhere before xmas and cant stop looking at it. I find that I am very drawn to it personally. Maybe because with pink it sends out the signal of "bold yet femanine"
